How I’m Preparing My Baby While Building an Online Income.

How I’m Preparing My Baby While Building an Online Income.

Many women begin preparing for their babies months in advance. Research shows that nearly 70–75% start financial planning. They also focus on emotional readiness and practical steps like attending classes early in pregnancy. Yet about 20–25% wait until the last minute. They trust that family, community, and faith will provide what is needed when the time comes. Both paths reflect the diverse ways mothers embrace the journey of motherhood. For me, building an online income while preparing for my baby has been a way of practicing diligence and stewardship, echoing Proverbs 21:5: “The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance.” At the same time, I hold onto Matthew 6:34, remembering that tomorrow is in God’s hands. I’ve been learning that preparation is wisdom, but trust is essential—and in Christ, both the planner and the last-minute mama can flourish in His abundant grace.

Trusting God When Money’s Tight

I recently had a moment on the edge of my bed one morning. I was staring at my baby bump with my hand on my belly. My heart was overflowing with both joy and quiet concern. Pregnancy is a beautiful journey, a gift from God, but it also comes with real questions. Will I have enough? Enough money for baby essentials, enough strength for sleepless nights, enough time to build the life I dream of?

This season of expecting a baby has stretched my faith in ways I didn’t expect, especially when my bank account doesn’t line up with my baby prep checklist. But through it all, God keeps reminding me that He is my provider. Not my 9 to 5, not my side hustle, not even my blog. He’s teaching me to steward what’s already in my hands. These include my skills, my story, and my faith. He is helping me build something meaningful. To create something with a purpose. That‘s how I found myself leaning into online income and trusting that what I plant now will bloom in due time.

I’m planting seeds now, believing they’ll bloom in the right season. Whether you’re pregnant, preparing for motherhood, or trying to earn income from home, know this: God is faithful, and He’ll meet your needs as you move in obedience and trust.

“Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God ”
— Psalm 20:7

3 Simple ways I’m Earning Online While Preparing for Baby

God provides, yes, but He also calls us to be faithful stewards. Whoever can be trusted with little can also be trusted with much. I’m trusting Him for the bigger picture. Here are three small steps I’ve taken. These steps are helping me build income.

1 blog post and 1 prayer at a time 😉

  • Starting my blog with Purpose

I didn’t wait to have it all figured out. I picked a niche I was living through, that is, faith, pregnancy and finding purpose. Used free blogging tools to launch without spending a dime. I committed to posting once a week, and that small act of obedience opened unexpected doors of opportunity and online income.

If you’ve been thinking about starting a blog but feel stuck, here’s your sign. You don’t need to be an expert. All you need is a message and a little faith. Ready to turn that dream in your heart into a stream of income? Here’s a guide to starting a blog for beginners. It’s especially helpful if you’re a mama looking to make money from home. You can also share your story.

  • How I Use Faith, Planning Tools & Affiliate Marketing to Grow My Blog Income

When I started blogging, I simply shared what was actually helping me in real life like faith devotionals I was reading, free productivity tools I used to plan my week, and little things that made my motherhood journey smoother.

I also signed up for beginner-friendly affiliate marketing programs. Now, when someone clicks on my affiliate links and makes a purchase, I earn a small commission at no extra cost to them. It’s not fast money or instant millions, but it is a smart way to start earning passive income from your blog. Every link, every post… a seed planted for future harvest. I promise 😉

A tip: Choose products you truly love so your blog stays honest.

I like to think of each blog post and affiliate link as a seed. Every time I share a helpful tool or faith-based resource, I’m planting seeds that can bloom over time. These seeds may sprout as blog traffic, email subscribers, or small income streams that grow little by little.

So if you’re just starting your own blog journey, I encourage you:

  • Share what’s really helping you
  • Be consistent, even if it’s once a week
  • Sign up for beginner-friendly affiliate programs
  • Trust that the seeds you plant now can lead to harvest later
  • Creating Simple Digital Products That Serve and Sell

Learning to create and sell digital products was one of the biggest game-changers for my blog. These products can be free printables. They can also be affordable paid downloads. This is one of the best ways to start making passive income as a beginner blogger, especially if you’re a stay at home mama or faith-driven woman building something from home.

For a long time, I only focused on writing blog posts. I poured my heart into content but never created anything to sell. Sound familiar? Most beginner bloggers get stuck here. I know because I’ve been there too.

This time around, I made a shift: I decided my blog would be both a ministry and a business. That meant I wasn’t just sharing inspiration. I was also creating simple digital products that solve problems and add value to my readers’ lives.

What Kind of Digital Products Can You Make You Ask?

You don’t need to be a designer or tech pro to get started. Here are some easy ideas for beginner-friendly digital products:

  • Faith-based printables (like devotionals, prayer journals, or affirmation cards)
  • Blog planning templates
  • Budgeting tools for moms
  • Pregnancy trackers or baby prep checklists
  • Guides on how to start a blog or earn online

You can even start with freebies to build your email list, then create low-ticket products to sell using platforms like Stan Store, Etsy, or even directly from your blog.

God’s provision flows through Your Obedience

So if you’re in a season where faith and finances seem to wrestle daily. You’re praying for open doors while folding baby clothes and counting coins. I’d remind you that God sees you. He’s not just the God of miracles; He is the God of process. And sometimes provision looks like an idea, a small yes, or showing up to build something that doesn’t look like much yet.

Take the step, start the blog, create that download, share that affiliate link, not because it’s guaranteed money overnight, but because obedience always bears fruit in the hands of our faithful Father.

Keep showing up, mama. Keep trusting. He’s got you and your baby 🪴💛
